"For I will restore health to you and heal you
of your wounds, says the Lord" (Jeremiah 30:17)
A Message From Jeff & Kelly
Kelly and I would like to express our most sincere appreciation for our families, dear friends
and all the "friends we haven't met yet". (It would not feel right calling so many good people
strangers). So many people have visited, written us or emailed us asking "what can I do?"
Friends and family have been there for us and offered to take care of anything possible. Jenna,
our 8 year old daughter was in the loving care of our very dear friend, Anne Davis for two weeks.
We cannot begin to say how much we appreciate her watching over Jenna. I could not imagine
having to worry about her care at a time like this. It has been very comforting to us that so
many people have called, or visited to offer support, prayer and words of hope. Truly our
support system is very strong and dedicated to our family during this tragic time.
We can not say enough about the care Evan has received throughout this difficult time. The
paramedics were the first responders and did a great job. They assessed Evan and got him to the
hospital as quickly as possible. The care at Firelands Hospital was excellent. They did
everything they could do for him before having to transport him to Rainbow.
And certainly we are so very grateful to the entire team at Rainbow Babies & Childrens
Hospital. They are first class all the way. The doctors, nurses and support staff did a
tremendous job with Evan and we cannot express how much we appreciate their talent and
compassion.
We would also like to thank the seemingly thousands or tens of thousands of people praying for
this sweet little boy. We have received emails from Texas, Nevada, Florida, New Mexico, New York,
Arizona, Alabama, North Carolina and many other states. We have also received emails
from The UK, Australia, Canada, and Belgium. All you wonderful people are prayng for a
child you've never even met, my child. Just the other day we received a message from a friend
of Kelly's sister. She stated that she is leaving for Rome and while there, she will be
visiting the Vatican saying a special prayer for Evan.
Kelly and I wish to thank the so many people back home that are doing so much for us. It seems
everyone in the community is doing something to help Evan and our family. Even the children
in the Perkins School District are collecting "Pennies For Evan" to try to help their
classmate. You all are so wonderful and thank you for making Evan part of "your own family".
Finally, we would like to thank the faculty and staff at Perkins Schools. They have been
incredible and we so thank them for their generosity, compassion, love and prayers for Evan.
God bless you all!
Jeff & Kelly
